The battle against the Titans was over, mankind had won. Thus Minato and Eren ended up finally making it to the sea, Eren probably had a big smile on his face... Minato sure did, the warm rays from the sun gently caressed his face and the warmed sand got between his toes. He could feel the salty, misty and cool breeze hit his face and hear the waves softly rolling to the shores as they walked together, hand in hand. Everything was perfect. Though, there was only one slight issue, Minato was unable to see any of it. Ironic wasn't it? He was the one who had so desperately wanted to see the outside world and because of a poisoning that had been meant for Eren, he was left blinded and no one knew if it would be for the rest of his life or only temporary. Eren had taken it very hard, his mind so wracked with guilt. Even with others and even Minato's consolation, Eren was still heartbroken. Minato remained strong, he had too. Eren was heartbroken and falling apart with guilt so he had no room to mourn his loss of vision. Not when Eren needed him so badly. Eren had become so protective of Minato that they ended up leaving the group and army to live a better and more quieter life. But now wasn't the time for thoughts on the past, now was the time to enjoy the present. His now sensitive ears could hear very soft sounds coming from Eren, "Eren.....?" He called out into the dark looking over in his direction, his eyes were now covered with bandages. "Why are you crying....?" His hand carefully reached out, blindly feeling until he found Eren's cheek to gently brush away the warm tears he could now feel roll down his cheeks. He didn't see why Eren would cry over this, he had been so adamant that Minato would regain his sight, how many years ago was that? Two years.
Minato had been blind for two years. Eren had stayed by his side the whole time, despite his refusal of assistance. Eren was adamant about being his eyes despite that, he had never let go of his hand since the day he was blinded. He helped Minato change his bandages as well, everyone had assured him that his eyes looked fine. The only thing that looked different was his grey eyes were clouded.
"The ocean sounds wonderful." He spoke softly with a smile on his face, "Will you help me to the shore.....?" He wanted to feel the water hit his bare feet. He was excited to feel and hear as much as he could during their visit before going to find a place to build their new home.
